Evidence, kept for seven years.
Quality here means a record you can audit, not a promise you have to trust. Lot, heat number, operator, machine and cure profile stay attached to the order long after the parts have shipped.
First article
Every setup, every shift, measured and signed before the batch runs. Actual readings recorded, never a tick.
In process
Checks at the frequency the job packet sets, logged as measurements so a drift is visible before it becomes scrap.
Final & documentation
Dimensional report, material certification and process records issued with the shipment where the contract calls for them.
Traceability
Lot, heat number, operator, machine and cure profile retained against the order for seven years.
Standards we work to.
Shown here as an illustration of how a real shop would present its registrations.
These are illustrative. Kestrel Precision Works is fictional, and no certificate number, registrar or audit date on this site is real. On a client's own site this block carries their certificate numbers and expiry dates.
The non-conformance process.
What actually happens, in the order it happens, including the part most shops leave out.
| Step | Who | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Quarantine | Operator | Suspect parts go to the red bin at the cell immediately, tagged with part number, operation, defect and quantity. |
| Notify | Shift Supervisor | You are told the same day, with the quantity affected and whether anything has already shipped. |
| Contain | Quality | Work in progress and finished stock are checked for the same condition before anything else moves. |
| Disposition | You | Scrap, rework or use-as-is is your call. We do not rework without written authorisation. |
| Correct | Quality | Cause identified and the process sheet changed, so the fix outlives the person who made it. |
Auditing a new supplier?
Ask for the documentation package before you place the first order. We would rather be checked early than explain late.
