Trained on the machine, not assumed.

Nobody here runs equipment they have not been signed off on, however much experience they arrived with. That is slower on week one and considerably faster for the next ten years.

What it is like

Straight about the things that matter.

The questions people actually want answered before they apply.

You can ask anything

New to the shop, or new to Canada, the rule is the same: ask. A question costs a minute; a guess can cost a hand. If English is not your first language, ask for it again, slower or in writing — nobody minds.

Safety is not a poster

Guards stay on, lockout happens on the two-minute job, and a refusal on unsafe work is treated as the correct call. Report an injury or a near miss and nothing happens to you — not reporting is the problem.

The assistant is yours

Every person on the floor can ask the team assistant a handbook question at any hour and get the answer with its source. It is there so you never have to guess or wait for a supervisor to be free.
